Apple sells iPhone Duo with 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB of storage. It was announced on 9 September 2026 and goes on sale on 23 October 2026. Like every iPhone, its storage is fixed when you buy it, so choose for how you will use it in two or three years, not only today. iOS and its system files take part of it, so the space you can use is a little less than the number on the box.
What fills an iPhone Duo
Photos and videos are usually the biggest part, then apps, then messages. In High Efficiency, Apple's figures for a minute of video are about 60 MB at 1080p and 30 fps, 170 MB at 4K and 30 fps, and 400 MB at 4K and 60 fps. iPhone Duo can record 4K at up to 120 fps, which takes more again. Ten minutes of 4K at 60 fps is about 4 GB.
A photo is far smaller: about 2 MB at 12 MP and about 3 MB at 24 MP in High Efficiency. Apps range from a few hundred megabytes to several gigabytes for large games, and many grow as they keep downloads. Messages keeps every photo and video in your conversations until you delete them, or until Keep Messages removes old ones.
How much storage do you need on iPhone Duo?
256 GB: you keep your photo library in iCloud with Optimize iPhone Storage on, film mostly in 1080p, and don't keep many big games or downloads.
512 GB: you film often in 4K, keep your whole library on the phone, or download films and music for travel.
1 TB or 2 TB: you record long 4K videos at high frame rates, or keep years of photos and videos on the phone without iCloud Photos.
How to see what's using space on iPhone Duo
iPhone Duo runs iOS, so storage is where it is on every iPhone.
- Open Settings and tap General.
- Tap iPhone Storage.
- Wait for the bar to load: it lists every app by size, biggest first, with recommendations at the top.
- Tap an app to see what it uses, with the choice to Offload App or Delete App.
How to free up space on iPhone Duo
The same steps work as on any iPhone: clear duplicate photos and screenshots, shrink your largest videos, offload apps you don't use, and empty Recently Deleted to get the space back at once.
