What Photos offers

Photos sorts by date and groups by type. Media Types gathers things like videos, Live Photos, screenshots and bursts, and Utilities holds Duplicates, Hidden and Recently Deleted. None of them judges whether a photo is sharp.

Clearing them by hand

  1. Open Photos and go to the days you shot the most: events, trips, anything taken in low light or on the move.
  2. Open a photo and pinch to zoom in on a face or an edge. Blur is easy to miss at thumbnail size.
  3. Tap the Trash button to delete it, or go back, tap Select, tap each blurred photo and tap the Trash button once.

Let an app group them

Phone Cleaner checks your photos on the device and lists the ones that came out blurred or shaken under Blurred photos on the Clean tab. Nothing is selected until you choose, so you look at each one and decide. The check carries on after the first scan, including while the iPhone charges, so the list can grow over your next few scans.

Animated walkthrough of Phone Cleaner: open Blurred photos from the Clean tab, pick the blurred shots and delete them.
Step 1 of 5Further down the Clean tab, the Blurred photos card shows what the blurred and shaken shots take: 318 MB. Tap it.

Before you delete

A soft photo can still be the only one of a moment. Review the group before you delete. Everything you remove goes to Recently Deleted for 30 days, so a mistake can be undone.

Questions

Does iPhone have a blurry photos album?

No. Photos groups by type and date, not by sharpness.

Can a blurry photo be fixed?

Only a little. Editing can sharpen edges slightly, but it cannot bring back detail lost to motion or missed focus.

Are blurred photos deleted automatically?

No. Phone Cleaner selects nothing in Blurred photos; you choose what goes.
