See every video in Photos

  1. Open Photos and find Media Types: on iOS 26 or later tap Collections, then scroll down; on iOS 18 scroll down.
  2. Tap Videos.
  3. Open a video and swipe up, or tap the Info button, to see its file size.

Why Photos can't sort videos by size

Photos sorts by date only: by when an item was captured or added in the library, and newest first, oldest first or a custom order in an album. There is no size order, so finding the heaviest videos means opening them one at a time.

The review list in Settings

  1. Open Settings › General › iPhone Storage and wait for the list to load.
  2. Tap Photos.
  3. On iOS 26 or later, tap Review Photos & Videos, then Videos. On iOS 18, look for a similar review option on the same screen.

This list covers the videos iOS suggests reviewing, and iOS only offers it when it has something to suggest.

List videos largest first, then compress them

Phone Cleaner's Videos category on the Clean tab opens with the largest file first and shows the size of each one. From there you pick the videos to compress at one of three levels (Low, Medium or High), with Keep originals on if you want to compare first.

Questions

Can I sort videos by size in Photos?

No. Photos sorts by date. You can read one video's file size by opening it and swiping up.

Why do videos take so much space?

Size grows with resolution and frame rate. A minute of 4K at 30 fps is about 170 MB in High Efficiency, against about 60 MB for 1080p at 30 fps.

Does deleting a video free space at once?

Only after it leaves Recently Deleted: after 30 days, or straight away if you empty it.
