Where screenshots are on iPhone
iPhone saves each screenshot to your photo library, and Photos gathers them in one place: Media Types › Screenshots. Nothing else is in that list, so you can clear it without touching your other photos.
Select all screenshots and delete them
- Open Photos and find Media Types: on iOS 26 or later tap Collections, then scroll down; on iOS 18 scroll down.
- Tap Screenshots.
- Tap Select, then Select All. To pick only some, tap them or slide your finger across them.
- Tap the Trash button, then confirm.
Empty Recently Deleted
Deleted screenshots stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days and still use space until then.
- In Photos, find Utilities: on iOS 26 or later tap Collections; on iOS 18 swipe up.
- Tap Recently Deleted, tap View Album, then unlock with Face ID or your passcode.
- Tap Select, tap the More button, then tap Delete All and confirm.
Screen recordings too
Screen recordings are videos, so each one takes far more space than a screenshot. They have their own list: Media Types › Screen Recordings. Select and delete them the same way.
Sort them faster
Phone Cleaner lists Screenshots and Screen recordings as their own categories on the Clean tab, each with its size. A separate Similar screenshots group collects the ones you took more than once and keeps one from each set. Nothing is deleted until you tap Delete Selected.
